Blessing Ariyo OBAFEMI is an Academic researcher with over 12 years of teaching and research experience. My research focuses on elucidating the molecular basis of neurotoxicity, particularly as induced by heavy metal contaminants and mycotoxins, and investigating their implications in neurodegenerative diseases. I aim to identify novel therapies and therapeutic targets for brain-related conditions.
I was awarded the CNPq-TWAS Postgraduate (PhD) Fellowship at Universidade Federal de Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (2016-2020) and the CAPES PrINT postdoctoral fellowship at Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (2023). Through my research training, I've developed expertise in various biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, which are not limited to colorimetric methods, ELISA, RNA/DNA extraction, gene sequencing, real time quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction and so on
I have published about 50 reputable peer-reviewed journals, with 40 on Scopus and I have registered innovative patents from the collaboration during my PhD. My passion includes research, mentoring young researchers and students,
